das<strong>Hotel Gritti<\/strong> sei \u201edas pr\u00e4chtigste Hotel in einer Stadt voller pr\u00e4chtiger Hotels\u201c. Es hei\u00dft, dass <strong>Hemingway<\/strong> ein <strong>n\u00e4chtliches Baseballspiel<\/strong> in der Hotellobby organisierte und dass der<strong> Manager<\/strong>, anstatt ihn zur\u00fcckzuschicken, die originelle Idee zu sch\u00e4tzen wusste und ihm einen 10-prozentigen Rabatt auf seine Rechnung gew\u00e4hrte. Die <strong>Basilika<\/strong> ist strategisch so positioniert, dass sie den Eingang zum <strong>Canal Grande<\/strong> \u00fcberragt und einen 360\u00b0-Blick \u00fcber die gesamte Stadt bietet.    <\/p><p><strong>Longhena<\/strong> w\u00e4hlte die <strong>runde Form<\/strong> mit der Absicht, der <strong>Madonna<\/strong> eine <strong>Krone<\/strong> aufzusetzen. Die vielen Statuen, Strebepfeiler und Voluten (d.h. Marmorrollen) unterstreichen die Pracht der Au\u00dfenarchitektur.<\/p><p>Heute pilgern <strong>die Venezianer<\/strong> jedes Jahr am <strong>21. Heute ist sie im Besitz des Kunstsammlers <strong>Fran\u00e7ois Pinault<\/strong>, der sie zum <strong>Zentrum f\u00fcr zeitgen\u00f6ssische Kunst<\/strong> umgebaut hat <strong>.<\/strong> Einst als <strong>Dogana del Mar<\/strong> bekannt, war die <strong>Punta della Dogana<\/strong> bis zum <strong>18. Jahrhundert<\/strong> der Ort, an dem <strong>Handelsschiffe<\/strong> vom Meer anhielten, um der Stadt Zoll zu zahlen.   Besonders bemerkenswert ist der <strong>Goldene Globus<\/strong> an der Spitze des Geb\u00e4udes. Die <strong>Kugel<\/strong> stellt die <strong>Welt<\/strong> dar, die von den <strong>beiden<\/strong> geb\u00fcckten <strong>Atlanten<\/strong> gest\u00fctzt wird und auf der die Figur der <strong>Fortuna<\/strong> steht, die sich dreht und sowohl die <strong>Richtung des Windes<\/strong> als auch die Zuf\u00e4lligkeit des Gl\u00fccks, das die Welt regiert, anzeigt.
