Obwohl sie nicht zu <strong>Hemingways<\/strong> gro\u00dfartigsten Werken z\u00e4hlt, ist seine Schilderung des \u00dcberlebens einer sch\u00f6nen Stadt nach dem Krieg doch unbestreitbar ergreifend.<\/p><p>Ein <strong>amerikanischer Oberst<\/strong>, der die Alliierten in der Region anf\u00fchrte, kehrte in den letzten Jahren seines Lebens oft nach Venedig zur\u00fcck. Wie viele vor ihm betrachtete er das Wasser aus der Ferne und lobte die Jungen von <a href=\"https:\/\/www.venicecitytours.it\/de\/inseln-von-venedig\/torcello-die-byzantinische-insel\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Torcello<\/strong><\/a> die als erste die Stadt erbaut hatten. Jahrhundert<\/strong> ist auch \u201e\u00dcber den Fluss und in die B\u00e4ume\u201c ein Roman f\u00fcr den Besucher, wenn auch kein Roman f\u00fcr Touristen. Es ist eine Geschichte \u00fcber den <strong>Tod<\/strong> nach einem Besuch in Venedig, einen Tod, der nicht von Venedig verursacht wurde, sondern von den<strong> Kriegsopfern<\/strong> der Alliierten in der Region.<\/p><p>Die<strong>Liebesgeschichte zwischen dem Oberst und der jungen Gr\u00e4fin<\/strong> wird ohne Sentimentalit\u00e4t oder \u00fcberm\u00e4\u00dfige Nachsicht am Ende eines milit\u00e4rischen Lebens erz\u00e4hlt. Die obligatorische <a href=\"https:\/\/www.venicecitytours.it\/de\/gondel\/die-venezianische-gondel\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Gondel<\/strong><\/a> der Liebenden wird in einer Gondel mit einem Eimer Champagner und einem Teppich im Winter transportiert. Die <strong>warme Pr\u00e4senz<\/strong> eines Venedigs mit \u201ekaltem, hartem Morgenlicht\u201c und Hochwasser ist \u00fcberall zu sp\u00fcren.<\/p><p>Unvergesslicher Besuch auf dem <strong>Rialto Markt<\/strong> &#8218;das, was einem guten Museum am n\u00e4chsten kommt&#8230;. Um die Verbreitung und Hortung von K\u00e4se und Wurstwaren zu studieren&#8216; und um Vorr\u00e4te f\u00fcr die Entenjagd in der Lagune zu kaufen. Es setzt die Ebene des Oneirischen frei und schwebt im kollektiven Ged\u00e4chtnis. Als<strong> schickes Cocktail-Zentrum der Stadt<\/strong> war <strong>Harry&#8217;s Bar<\/strong> der <strong>Treffpunkt<\/strong> f\u00fcr die <strong>Besucherstr\u00f6me<\/strong> der Nachkriegszeit, der Ort, den man sah, wenn man vom Lido oder von den n\u00e4chsten Hotels kam.  <br><br>Es wurde im <strong>Mai 1931<\/strong> ganz bescheiden er\u00f6ffnet, mit einem <strong>Zimmer im Erdgeschoss<\/strong>, <strong>vier Fenstern und ohne Aussicht<\/strong>.
