Turchi<\/strong>, built in the\u00a0<strong>1400\u2019s<\/strong>, became in\u00a0<strong>1621<\/strong>\u00a0the workplace and residence allotted to\u00a0<strong>merchants<\/strong>\u00a0of the\u00a0<strong>Ottoman empire<\/strong>.\u00a0<strong>Fondaco<\/strong>\u00a0is originally an\u00a0<strong>Arabic<\/strong>\u00a0word in fact, meaning\u00a0<strong>warehouse<\/strong>. The\u00a0<strong>Venetian State<\/strong>, as always kept a vigilant eye, and appointed a fulltime guardian with the only keys to the building, who made sure no women or children entered the\u00a0<strong>Fondaco<\/strong>, to distract the workers from their work. The building was abandoned by the\u00a0<strong>Turks<\/strong>\u00a0in awful conditions, and after heavy restructuring, it is now home to the city\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Natural History Museum<\/strong>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-da72d62 elementor-widget elementor-widget-spacer\" data-id=\"da72d62\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"spacer.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-spacer\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-spacer-inner\"><\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-acbfcc4 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"acbfcc4\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Ca' Pesaro<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ab704c7 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"ab704c7\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Now we find\u00a0<strong>Palazzo Pesaro<\/strong>: home to the\u00a0<strong>International Gallery of Modern Art and Museum of Oriental Art<\/strong>. This was\u00a0<strong>Longhena\u2019s<\/strong>\u00a0last project, who received the task from the powerful\u00a0<strong>Pesaro family<\/strong>, and which took him\u00a0<strong>50 years<\/strong>\u00a0to build. The\u00a0<strong>duchess Felicita Bevilacqua la Masa<\/strong>, patron of artists, donated this\u00a0<strong>Palace<\/strong>\u00a0to the city of\u00a0<strong>Venice<\/strong>. The\u00a0<strong>museum<\/strong>\u00a0was inaugurated in\u00a0<strong>1902<\/strong>.
